Alvin is 35 years old.

For a horse, that’s a lifetime filled with stories. Years of quiet rides, steady companionship, and a bond that only deepens with time. He has been part of Becca's world through seasons most people will never fully understand.

And now, that time is coming to a close.

On Wednesday, she will have to say goodbye.

When Becca reached out to schedule this session, it wasn’t about outfits or locations or even the photos themselves.

It was about time.

About holding onto something she knew she was about to lose.

We often think we’ll have more time.

More time for “one day.”
More time for “we should really do photos.”

But sometimes… we don’t.

End-of-life pet photography is not about focusing on loss. It’s about honoring the bond that has already been built.

At 35 years old, Alvin has lived a long and meaningful life.

And in these final days, every moment carries more weight.

The way she leaned into him.
The way he stood calmly beside her.
The familiarity between them that didn’t need to be directed or staged.

These are the moments that matter.

Diesel was there too, bringing a different kind of energy to the session. A reminder that our animals don’t exist in separate spaces of our lives. They are woven into our everyday moments.

Big and small.
Quiet and chaotic.
All of it matters.

These images were taken just days before Alvin will be laid to rest.

Days.

What felt like a simple afternoon… brushing, standing close, sharing space… has now become something irreplaceable.

Because when Wednesday comes, these photographs will hold what memory alone cannot.

The way he looked at her.
The way she held onto him.
The love that filled every quiet second.
