As another school year wraps up, I’m reflecting on one of my favorite sessions of the year—the cap and gown portraits with my 2025 senior model team. This final shoot is always filled with emotion, pride, and the sweetest kind of goodbyes.
This year’s senior model team included 16 girls from 9 different high schools across the Triad—including High Point, Greensboro, Kernersville, and surrounding areas. These girls came together as strangers but quickly grew into a close-knit group through shared experiences and creative photo sessions.
Each one brought something unique to the team, and seeing them connect and support one another has been one of the most rewarding parts of my job as a high school senior photographer based in High Point, NC.
Over the course of the year, these amazing seniors participated in six or more seasonal styled sessions. From our summer kickoff session at Oak Leaf Acres Farm, to traditional fall themes, holiday glam at Magnolia Studios, studio portraits, and more—each experience was carefully planned to be fun, confidence-boosting, and meaningful.
But nothing compares to our final session of the year—cap and gown portraits and college t-shirts that mark the end of high school and the friendships built along the way.
The cap and gown session holds a special place in my heart every single year. By the time we reach this session, the girls aren’t just teammates—they’re real friends. They’ve laughed together, grown together, and created memories that will last long after graduation.
Watching them fix each other’s gowns, help with tassels, and cheer each other on during their individual shots is truly emotional. It’s a reminder that this model team isn’t just about taking senior portraits—it’s about creating connection, confidence, and community for girls who may have never crossed paths otherwise.
These cap and gown portraits are more than just graduation photos—they reflect a year of growth, confidence, and friendship. It’s the perfect final chapter in a story that began with excitement and ended in lifelong connections.
To my beautiful 2025 Krew: thank you. Thank you for trusting me, showing up wholeheartedly, and making this year unforgettable. I’m so proud of each of you and can’t wait to see what you do next.
