There is something about the Fourth of July that just feels like summer.
The sunshine, the laughter, friends spending time together, and of course the American flags waving in the breeze. Even when the temperatures decide to remind us that North Carolina summers are no joke, the patriotism is present!
Our annual Kelli's Krew Fourth of July shoot was all of those things and more. Yes, it was incredibly hot. We were sweating before we even unpacked the accessory, but these six amazing seniors never stopped smiling. They embraced every minute, laughed through the heat, and created memories that will last long after summer is over.
This year's session took place next to Oak Hollow Lake in High Point, North Carolina, where the peaceful water and golden evening light created the perfect backdrop for celebrating both summer and senior year.
One of my favorite things about Kelli's Krew is watching these girls become friends throughout the year.
When they first join, many of them come from different schools and have never met. By the middle of summer, they're cheering each other on, helping fix hair, hyping each other up behind the camera, and laughing like they've known each other forever.
That sense of connection is something you simply can't create during a one-hour photo session.
It's why Kelli's Krew is about so much more than beautiful senior portraits. It's about giving these girls experiences they'll remember every time they flip through their albums years from now.
What is the best part about group sessions with the Krew?
Every senior makes the shoot uniquely her own.
Some donned sparkly cowboy hats, while others added festive bandanas, layered patriotic necklaces, fun sunglasses, denim, boots, and plenty of red, white, and blue. Of course, we couldn't leave out the classic American flag, and iconic Coca Cola bottles which made for some of my favorite images of the evening.
No two girls looked alike, and that's exactly how it should be.
One of the biggest priorities during every senior session is helping each senior showcase her own personality instead of trying to fit into someone else's idea of what senior portraits should look like.
Whether we're photographing at the lake, in downtown High Point, exploring flower fields, or finding hidden gems around North Carolina, every session is designed around the senior herself.
One of the things I love most about these Krew shoots is capturing both sides of the experience.
The group photos tell the story of friendship, shared memories, and celebrating this season together.
The individual portraits remind each senior just how beautiful, confident, and unique she is. And these portraits become part of their personal senior album that captures her entire senior year.
Years from now, these images won't simply remind them of what they looked like.
They'll remember the laughter, the heat, the conversations, and the excitement of entering senior year. They will remember the developing friendships and the feeling of being completely present in one unforgettable summer evening.
Those are the moments worth preserving.
If you're searching for a High Point senior photographer who offers a luxury senior portrait experience, planning ahead makes all the difference.
The best senior portraits don't happen by accident. They're thoughtfully planned around your senior's personality, favorite locations, wardrobe, and the season that fits her vision best.
Whether you're dreaming of lakeside portraits, downtown city vibes, flower fields, open fields, or something completely unique, we'll create an experience that feels effortless while capturing images you'll treasure for generations.
Senior year only happens once.
Let's make sure it's remembered beautifully. Get in touch. Book the consult. Give your senior an experience she or he will remember. Let's do it!
